Rajasthan 1857 revolt - Agent to Governor General, it's Political agents and british cantonments.
The post of A.G.G. (Agent to Governor General) in Rajasthan was started in 1832 by Lord William Bentinck from Ajmer. In 1845 it was transferred from Ajmer to Mount Abu for summer. First A.G.G. of Rajputana was Mr. Lockett. and George Petrik Lawrence in Revolution of 1857.
राजस्थान में A.G.G. (एजेंट टू गवर्नर जनरल) का पद 1832 में लॉर्ड विलियम बेंटिक ने अजमेर से शुरू किया था। 1845 में इसे गर्मियों के लिए अजमेर से माउंट आबू स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया। राजपुताना के पहले ए.जी.जी. श्री लॉकेट थे। और 1857 की क्रांति के समय जॉर्ज पेट्रिक लॉरेंस थे।

At the time of the revolution of 1857 there were 6 cantonments in the state( rajasthan ) -
(1) Erinpura (Pali) Jodhpur Legion 1836
(2) Beawar (Ajmer) Merwara Battalion 1822
(3) Deoli (Tonk) Kota Continent
(4) Khairwada (Udaipur) Mewar Bhabil Corps 1837
(5) Nasirabad (Ajmere) Bengal Native Infantry
(6) Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh) Neemuch Cantonment
The Beawar and Khairwada cantonments of the state did not participate in the revolution.
At the time of revolution there were 5000 soldiers in 6 cantonments, but there was not a single European soldier in them.
1857 की क्रान्ति के समय राज्य ( राजस्थान ) में 6 छावनियाँ थी-
(1)एरिनपुरा(पाली) जोधपुर लीजियन 1836
(2) ब्यावर(अजमेर) मेरवाड़ा बटालियन 1822
(3) देवली(टोंक) कोटा कन्टिलजेन्ट
(4) खैरवाड़ा(उदयपुर) मेवाड़भील कोर 1837
(5) नसीराबाद(अजमरे ) बंगाल नेटिव इन्फ़ेंट्री
(6) नीमच(मध्यप्रदेश) नीमच छावनी
क्रान्ति के समय 6 छावनियों में 5000 सैनिक थे, परन्तु इनमें एक भी युरोपीय सैनिक नहीं था।
राज्य की ब्यावर व खैरवाड़ा की छावनी ने क्रान्ति में भाग नहीं लिया था।
